Abstract

This paper takes a closer look at Miguel Oblitas Bustamante's symphony Las Pampas de Nasca, analyzing it from a formal, melodic, harmonic, and timbral perspective. It provides a general analysis of the work and takes a detailed look at its third movement. The importance of this work lies in the need to reevaluate, from a musicological perspective, symphonic expressions that convey regional identity and engage in dialogue with other trends. In the contextualization, the aesthetic and ideological trends present will be reflected upon, distinguishing mainly nationalism and primitivism. These, observed in the body of the research through the musical analysis of compositional techniques, reveal the search for originality by a composer consistent with his ideological principles.
