Abstract

Peruvian Overture is a work for symphony orchestra with a nationalist character, inspired by the musical folklore of Peru's three geographical regions: coast, highlands, and jungle. This composition seeks to revalue Peru's traditional musical heritage through a contemporary academic approach, integrating melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic elements of the popular repertoire with techniques specific to symphonic writing.
