Análisis histórico-musical de la Banda Real Internacional: estilo e impacto (1990-2020)

This study analyzes the stylistic evolution and cultural impact of the Banda Real Internacional (BRI) of Huánuco, Peru, between 1990 and 2020. The objective was to understand how this musical group has transformed its sound proposal over three decades, in response to sociocultural and technological changes, and how it has contributed to local and national musical identity. A mixed approach with an exploratory sequential design was used, beginning with a documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews with musicians linked to the BRI, followed by surveys of specialists and listeners. The findings show a progressive evolution in the compositional structure, instrumentation and harmonic language, highlighting the innovative inclusion of voices and choirs in Andean genres. Likewise, a solid connection with its audience and a recognized influence on other groups in the country were identified. It is concluded that the BRI has managed to balance tradition and innovation, consolidating itself as a regional and national musical reference. Its contribution has been key in the revitalization of the traditional Huanuqueño repertoire and in the formation of a contemporary sound identity that values its own without renouncing to experimentation.
